AAFPRS Brings The Latest Developments In Facial Plastic Surgery To Boston

The Educational and Research Foundation for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) will hold its Advances in Rhinoplasty Exhibit on June 28 - July 2, 2007, at the Westin Boston Waterfront in Boston.

The conference is designed to enable facial plastic surgeons from around the globe to learn the latest rhinoplasty techniques while reinforcing skills and methods through focused panels and presentations of acknowledged rhinoplasty experts. Panels will center on approaches to the nose, with special attention to hot topics that include:

-- Pediatric rhinoplasty

-- Ethnic rhinoplasty

-- Synthetic versus natural implants

-- The use of filler materials and the controversy that surrounds this subject

-- The truth about long term follow-up and revision rhinoplasty

"Advances in Rhinoplasty has become the leading biennial meeting focusing on nasal cosmetic and reconstructive surgery in the world," says Ira Papel, MD, past president of the AAFPRS and course director. "The event allows surgeons from all over the globe to learn about the latest techniques from the leading international faculty of acknowledged expert surgeons."

Rhinoplasty continues to be among the most popular surgical procedures performed by AAFPRS facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons; in 2006, it ranked as the sixth most popular. The annual member survey reports that AAFPRS surgeons completed a projected 10,700 rhinoplasties in 2006, with an average number of individual AAFPRS members performing an estimated 53.5 rhinoplasties per year.
